We good humans can make a difference. This is Let's Go Home Kitty's motto and our core belief for a better world, not only for us but for our furry loved ones too.
Let's Go Home Kitty started when Lee, the founder and operator (aka “cat lady” in her neighborhood) decided to try to do something, anything, about the heartbreaking plight of the abandoned cats just outside her door.
Local Advocacy
Her first Chico rescue cat showed up in 2012 when the starving cat, left behind by a family who moved to southern California, adopted Lee. Later, while volunteering for five-plus years with a local organization to “fix” and adopt out (if possible) needy cats, her eyes were opened and she couldn’t turn her back.
So since 2016, she's been taking on the “hardest job” ever in all her years on the planet. Six and a half years daily of continued feeding & watching out for an abandoned colony down the street and begging/inviting neighbors to join in.
Lee's Offerings
Rehabilitating injured cats
Raising & socializing kittens and working with their traumatized mama
Hospicing a cat dumped nearby by a Camp Fire victim
Caring for and attempting to find homes for cats left on the doorstep, those who were fleeing mauling dogs and mean people, as well as cats who were pushed out of newly fenced yards
